Of Circles, Squares and Thin Lines.

There are these moments in life when you feel that you are walking on thin lines. Points where everything seems perfect but you know that a little gentle push and you will fall on either side. Neither side you know is anything compared to this but you know sooner or later you will fall.
So what do you do?
I remember a line from a song that says – ‘Even falling feels like flying for a little while’
Sometimes we like to endure pain, revel the pleasure of risk and fight with ourselves to go to the limits of our beliefs and values.
I wonder if we are all masochists at some level and on another level if we are all desperate attention seekers.
We reach points of balance and we like to stretch them till the longest time. Then it all starts to seem mundane and so very boring.
We look for triggers to sway us, make us tip and make us fall.
We fall, rise and start walking the line again.
If life is just made up of these circles, when does one settle into a plain, simple square?
Just some thoughts on an idle Friday afternoon.....

true aanchal.. life is a perfect circle.. it is meant to be a 'simple' life, but it is us who make it 'not so simple'

we need to sway...if we just let it be, it wudn't be exciting anymore..

true su ....i guess its about the direction we sway in.. but tht too.. who decides? sometimes the reins are just not in your hand :)its like god or whatever puts us in those situations.. esp the tricky ones!

I suppose its the circles that make it worth living, its almost like a catharsis of sorts where we get to almost come back to where we were at a previous point in our lives but this time stronger, armed with experience and the ability to look beyond the surface and appreciate the time for its worth.

I'm reminded of Gibran - "Lovers embrace not each other, but what is between them". And I'm not really sure it's just lines and shapes. We seek approval in the eyes of the other, and having been approved of we change back to who we always will be, rather than the person they thought we were.

It is this change that becomes the bone of contention, and we can choose to embark on a voyage of discovery or of conversion, and the fate of all our relationships then hinges on that decision and its resultant effects.

Your blog is very nice :)

Thanks for the kind words, Aanchal, but I think I may need to lay off the medication. Got a bit muddled between the trains of thought in the last two posts.

Meet my new friend, Mr. Al Zymer :)

It's good that you get what I mean though!
